I hesitate to comment without reading Ton...Dennis,<br /><br />I hesitate to comment without reading Tony's thoughts in more detail. If Tony is suggesting that atonement is much larger than propitiation, I certainly agree. I am not sure I like the phrase "a better atonement." I think the church has been wise throughout history not to latch on to one or two aspects of atonement as THE meaning of Christ's death. The richness of what Christ has done for us in atonement should not be limited to one or two aspects, nor should we rank one or two of those aspects as somehow better.Allan R.
