Personally, I wish more Christians leaders could vocalize their passion for Jesus without subsuming that passion to their larger passion for a political ideology. I grant that the political and economic order are immensely important. Yet, to try to ground your ideology in Jesus does not demonstrate the lordship of Jesus, but rather, the divine nature in which you have invested your ideology. It has become an idol.
