The...Myth 1: Depression is synonymous with sadness.<br />There is also people who I think it is called manic depressant who appear very happy. Those with this are sad when they appear to be happy and sad when they are sad.<br /><br />Myth 2: Depression is a sign of mental weakness.<br />No.<br />Myth 3: Depression is always situational.<br />I do not agree with that the happiest thing in the world could be going on and someone who suffers from depression will still be depressed it is not something that can just be turned off by a good event.<br />Myth 4: Depression symptoms are all in your head.<br />It is not all in their head, and it is the stigma around this real problem that prevents people from getting help that they need. <br />Myth 5: If you are diagnosed with depression, you’ll be on antidepressants the rest of your life.<br />Some can get though depression with therapy. Therapy is very helpful to some. However if the therapist deems it necessary to take anti depressants it is not a negative thing.
