I’ve been traveling to Cuba every year or so since March of 2004. I go there to teach Methodist pastors. Given the relationship between Cuba and the United States, travel is never an easy thing. It has loosened up on both ends over the past ten years, though on our end it has become more complicated again over the last three or so years. But when I first started going, things were rather tense. Landing in Havana and getting through customs was quite the chore and I never knew quite what to expect.
