Sometimes, a Break Is in Order...

I have been blogging since December 2005. When I began I had no idea how it would morph into something quite unexpected. It has been a wonderful experience. I have enjoyed the diverse voices in the blogosphere, going back and forth on important matters and enjoying the more mundane times of humor.

I announced yesterday that I was shutting down this blog. I think I just need a break. Sometimes we get so lost into what's important to us, we can lose perspective. I think that has happened with me. So, I just need a little time away from the rough and tumble. I will return to blogging at some point in the next few weeks. I think it is too much in my system to quit for good.

But we all know that even a good thing can become a problem. So, after a little time away I am sure something will get me thinking and I will post my thoughts here at Faith Seeking Understanding.

See you soon.

Blog breaks are a good thing. By all means, take a break. I hope you heard very clearly that your voice is appreciated by many of us. If you find that you have a desire to return to this — great! If not, be assured that what you have done is appreciated.

P.S. Two summers ago I had to take an extended blog break because my dizziness (Ménière's disease) would not allow me to sit at the computer screen for that long a period of time. I thought my stats would plummet like a rock. But, they really didn't.

Glad to hear it, Allan. Blogging is a ministry, and sabbaticals are crucial. I look forward to your return.
