Tony Gugliotta, WJAR-TVNARRAGANSETT, R.I. (WJAR) - A Rhode Island man has filed a federal lawsuit that seeks to silence the bells of a neighboring Catholic church.
Narragansett resident John Devaney claims the ringing of the bells at St. Thomas More Catholic church contributed to the failure of his marriage and are disrupting the quality of his life.
Earlier complaints made to Narragansett officials were dismissed because the town's noise ordinance exempts places of religious worship.
Well, I am sorry that the guy's marriage is ruined, but I frankly doubt that the church bells led to its end, and if so, what kind of fragile and relationship was it that church bells ringing three times a day became grounds for divorce?
I'm guessing the man is attempting to raise money to pay his alimony.
This is one complaint that just doesn't ring true.
I'm going to file this one under "nonsense."
