On This Day in 1770...
...the Anglican revivialist preacher, George Whitefield died. He was a friend of John Wesley, but the two differed theologically as Whitefield was a Calvinist. In their earlier days, this caused no little tension between them.Whitefield was admired by Ben Franklin, though Franklin's deism remained intact even though the two developed a friendship.
