BOSTON, July 2 (UPI) -- Police in Massachusetts said a Maine man accused of stealing a boat in the Charles River gave his name to officers as "Peter Pan."
Massachusetts state troopers said they responded about 11:45 a.m. Saturday to a call from a boat owner about his 28-foot vessel being stolen from Poorman's Landing, the Boston Herald reported Tuesday.
A state police Marine Section patrol boat caught up with the stolen vessel and the alleged thief, a 27-year-old man from Topsham, Maine, told troopers he owned the boat and gave his name as "Peter Pan."
The Suffolk District Attorney's Office said the man was identified by staff at Massachusetts General Hospital. His name was not released.
The man was charged with boat theft and giving police a false name.
