Presidential Elections and the Roman Circus

Interesting words from Stanley Hauerwas. I wish they would have edited out the sneeze.

As a 75 year old woman and 5th generation Methodist I am praying that a Mormon, Mitt Romney, wins this race for President of our Country. My grandson, a 7th generation Methodist, is also a Romney man. I am pleased he's so very interested in church and in politics. And I am very disappointed that the Hollywood "stars" seem to support Obama who, in my opinion, is a practicing Muslim.

As I get ready for Sunday School and Church this morning I will be praying for Governor Romney.

The kind of love that distinguishes a Christian from an unbeliever is the kind of love that Jesus demonstrated and requires of us -- to love those who we, in our own strength, cannot love. If we love only those who love us or are easy to love, that isn't love. I don't see your love for Obama in your post.

It is also disconcerting to see how people still claim that Obama is Muslim. I'm posting a link that proclaims quite the opposite. http://religion.blogs.cnn.com/2012/10/27/in-obamas-first-term-an-evolving-christian-faith-and-a-more-evangelical-style/?iid=article_sidebar

Judy, there is no evidence at all that President Obama is a practicing Muslim. I think the problem with partisans on both sides of the political aisle is that too many of them are willing to believe conspiracy theories and all kinds of things that simply are not true because it fits their narrative of the country and the world.

It's just like those on the left who to this day think that George Bush was somehow involved in 9/11.
