I do not seek to understand that I may believe, but I believe in order to understand. For this also I believe, –that unless I believed, I should not understand.-- St. Anselm of Canterbury (1033-1109)

Ten Blogs I Read Regularly and Why

Not necessarily in order of importance:

1. Jesus Creed-- Scot McKnight continually posts subjects of interest from theology to biblical studies to science. I very much appreciate the scientific reflections from RJS.

2. The Clockwork Pastor-- Dennis Sanders is a blogger with perspective who is willing to challenge everyone with his sound reasoning ability.

3. Jesus Community-- Ted Gossard is spiritually in touch. His posts connect with the divine. His blog is a must read.

4. The Biblical World-- John Byron is a careful New Testament scholar and a man of deep Christian faith. He is not afraid to post on controversial issues. He is also not shy in affirming his own faith in the midst of the tough questions.

5. The Kruse Kronicle-- Michael Kruse is my go to guy when it comes to economics. He is balanced and wisely reflective.

6. John Meunier-- John is a self-described Methonerd, He wastes no posts on trivial matters. Sometimes his posts are short, but they contain substance.

7. Morgan Guyton-- Well, Morgan, you are one smart guy. Keep up the good work.

8. Dave Black-- Dave blogs on everything from biblical studies to agriculture. An all around interesting blog.

9. Rethinking Biblical Christianity-- Peter Enns is on the cutting edge of biblical hermeneutics and scientific inquiry. His work is critically important, even though he is a Yankees fan. Please don't hold that against him.

10. Ponderings on a Faith Journey-- Bob Cornwall regularly posts thought-provoking stuff. He is balanced and considerate in his views.

well, it's a good list, but intriguing that there are no women on it.

Thanks for the shout-out. Re: women, check out Rachel Held Evans, Sarah Howell, Ann Voskamp, Kelly Youngblood, or Rebecca Trotter.

Thanks for the comments, one and all.

I am indeed familiar with female bloggers and read more than a few, but I find that these blogs are the one's I read most often because of their content for my own needs. It's just a personal thing.

I am an unashamed egalitarian, but I do not always feel the need to justify that with the things I write and list.
