Walk in the Footsteps of John and Charles Wesley

You are invited to join Dr. Steve Manskar, the Director of Wesleyan Leadership at the General Board of Discipleship, and Dr. Paul Chilcote, Professor of Historical Theology and Wesleyan Studies at Ashland Theological Seminary, Ashland, Ohio, on a pilgrimage to the England of John and Charles Wesley.

From October 4-14, 2012 you will

•Immerse yourself in the missional leadership of John & Charles Wesley
•Learn and pray where the Wesley’s prayed and served
•Reflect, pray, and make new friends in small groups
•Daily Worship
•Make connections between the Wesleyan heritage and missional leadership for today
•Explore English culture and have fun!

You will explore

•Epworth: the Wesley’s birthplace.
•Oxford: where John & Charles Wesley received theological education and led the Holy Club.
•Bristol: the home of the Methodist societies and class meeting.
•London: where both Wesley brothers experienced assurance of salvation and John Wesley built the center of British Methodism.
•Salisbury: home to a vital Methodist congregation once served by Francis Asbury. We will enjoy the hospitality of Sarum College, an ecumenical school of theological training.

More information on this pilgrimage including registration information and cost is available here.

This event is sponsored by the General Board of Discipleship and by the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry.

There are a limited number of scholarships available for those of who are being commissioned for elders and deacons orders. That information is available here.

I am pondering going as well. Why don't you ponder it too.
