Of late I have become interested in how birth order affects the interactions between human beings. Of course, one's place in the birth order "pecking order" does not account fully for an individual's personality, but it does explain many things as we interact with one another. As a pastor, I have found it helpful to know a person's birth order as I work in ministry with her or him (not that I am always asking).
Here's a list from Parenthood.com of birth order characteristics. Does your birth order explain much about your personality or are there other factors that have pushed you outside the "birth order box"?

I foundnthis to be RIGHT ON!
For me, birth order is only part of the story. In addition to being the first born in my family, I was the first grandson of a clan that would eventually reach 30 cousins. The responsibility factor was outrageous. But, added to birth order, My parents had wildly different personalities. My father was very critical while my mother was very friendly. I ended up constantly being the communicator and peacemaker between them. So, I have become a very critical, analytical, outgoing and friendly nut job....thanks folks!

Now that's a quotable!
I read The Birth Order Book by Kevin Leman. It goes along the lines of what you've got here, and it explained a lot about me! Definitely a firstborn! :)
