Doing the Methodist Shuffle This Week

Along with many other UM pastors, I am doing the Methodist Shuffle this week and moving on down the road. We will be leaving Cambridge, Ohio on Tuesday and arriving in Akron, Ohio on Wednesday.

Blogging will be quite sparse this week.

I could easily be a Methodist in pretty much every way, but this is one aspect of the Methodist church that seems quite counterproductive to me. They move you all way too much, IMHO.

Hope the move goes well. God bless in your new appointment.

I had a former ds tell me that 80%+ of all moves came from the pastors' requesting a move. When the going gets tough, move. Do you think the Methodist system of moving pastors is working well? When the guaranteed appointment is gone, do you think those not appointed should still have the all the rights of appointed elders? Or should we forget all this and concentrate on making disciples?
