Thirty-Five Years Ago Today...

...the Edmund Fitzgerald sank in a storm on Lake Superior as the freighter was bound for Cleveland, Ohio. I was thirteen years old and remember well the news that day.

Yes- I remember it well. I was a freshman in high school It was on the front page of PD that wintry morning. And the song, of course is legendary.

Growing up on Lake Erie, I new all about the vicious November winds. I couldn't believe that they think the bow actually hit bottom, but I think the ship was already damaged.

Peace and grace especially to the surviving families.

Thanks for the post.
