A great fan of Polkinghorne, I've read most of his books, but the one lecture I attended was undecipherable. I attributed that to his rich accent and habit of swallowing not the ends of words but the ends of sentences. Of course my ignorance added to the problem. It's hard work being an ignorant curmudgeon. Detracts from my credibility.

I may not always agree with you, but your credibility is beyond question, my friend.

If I ever find myself in trouble, I would want you to cover my back.
