I was in the church office working when the secretary, who had the radio on, told me that a small plane had crashed into one of the Twin Towers. A few minutes later it was clear that it was more devastating than that. I rushed home to see what was happening on the television.
Where were you eight years ago today? Please feel free to post a comment.

I was glued to my tv. Not wanting to watch anymore, but not able to tear myself away either.
I remember thinking I was so glad my mom did not live to see that day, but would have given anything to call her.
I wondered what I would tell my kids. But was heartsick for them when they got home from school and had been watching it all day at school. They were 14 and 11 at the time and full of questions I had no answers for.
I was getting ready to go out, when I heard on the radio that a plane had hit the Towers. I started to cry, as it was like what I had experienced emotionally, as "surprise attack".
I called a person in my children's school to inform them and kept them up to date, as they had no TV.
It was a very sobering day, very troubling.
We had moved to WW from NYC just a year earlier. Many of our friends and parishioners worked down there. Oddly enough every one of them was absent that day for one reason or another.
