The Old Political Adage Has Just Been Proven True Beyond a Shadow of a Doubt

It is now official-- Al Franken has been elected by the people of Minnesota to the United States Senate. The old saying has now been proven true beyond dispute-- Anyone, and I mean absolutely anyone, can be elected to Congress.

Well, as a Minnesota boy myself, there is some truth to that since Minnesota elected Michelle Bachman. At least Al was a professional comedian, besides being a math whiz. That will be refreshing. A senator who is smart, funny and can add.

It just goes to show that if one takes enough time to look through enough car trunks, one can find enough votes to even swing an election. Then with the right sort of court, the deal is done.

Earl,
Out of curiosity would you have said the same thing about the famous Florida recount that made GW president after the Supreme Court made its decision? Minnesotans do a lot of dumb things, but one thing they have is more honest government than most states.

At issue is not if Minn. state govt.is corrupt. At issue is the integrity of the election process. In this case, the votes were conveniently "discovered" just when they were needed to put the democratic candidate over the top.

Oh good grief. That sounds like something Rush would come up with. "I'm just saying."

To be honest Earl, you said quite plainly that Minnesota government is corrupt. So I'll go with that and wonder how it is that the Coleman backers conveniently misplaced ballots against them in the trunk of a car. No accusation of course, but I'm just saying. This kind of goofiness could go one forever, so how about assuming an honest recount endorsed by an honest state supreme court about a very close election.
