The Eyes and the Soul of Vladimir Putin

Seven years ago, George W. Bush said of Vladimir Putin, "I looked the man in the eye. I found him to be very straight forward and trustworthy and we had a very good dialogue. I was able to get a sense of his soul."

In the fall of 2007, John McCain said, "I looked into Mr. Putin's eyes and I saw three letters — a K and a G and a B."

In light of Russia's invasion of Georgia, it would appear that Senator McCain got it right.
