It depends on the reason. I suppose it has to do with his work on global warming. Whatever criteria they set up. I just don't know. Again, it all depends on what they think is worthy of a doctorate.

Doctorates are great and fine. But maybe overrated. I tend to think so. Without despising them. (hopefully my thoughts don't stem from not having one, though I do have a Batchelor and Masters, and work in a factory, ha)

Honorary doctorates should be given out sparingly. There is no doubt that many people make valuable contributions to many different spheres of life, but only the most exceptional should receive such an honor.

I have to confess that I do not think Al Gore qualifies as exceptional here.
