A Case of Mistaken Identity: Reflections on the Parable of the Prodigal Son

This will week I will begin a series of posts on the Parable of the Prodigal Son (Luke 15:11-32). Several different titles have been suggested for the parable in an attempt to bring out the meaning of the story (e.g. the Parable of the Loving Father, the Parable of the Prodigal and His Brother). Perhaps as I move through each reflection, another title for the story will emerge.

I plan to focus my reflections on each of the three characters of the story in order: the prodigal, his father, and his brother.
