"In the evening I went very unwillingly to a society in Aldersgate Street, where one was reading Luther's preface to the Epistle to the Romans. About a quarter to nine, while he was describing the change which God works in the heart through faith in Christ, I felt my heart strangely warmed. I felt I did trust in Christ, Christ alone for salvation; and an assurance was given me that He had taken away my sins, even mine, and saved me from the law of sin and death."
In all the ways you can.
In all the places you can.
At all the times you can.
By all the means you can.
To all the people you can.
As long as ever you can.
"Let it be observed, that slovenliness, is no part of religion; that neither this nor any test of Scripture, condemns neatness of apparel. Certainly this is a duty, not a sin. 'Cleanliness is, indeed, next to godliness.'"
"Sir, you wish to serve God and go to heaven. Remember you cannot serve Him alone. You must therefore find companions or make them. The Bible knows nothing of solitary religion."

Do all the good you can.In all the ways you can.
In all the places you can.
At all the times you can.
By all the means you can.
To all the people you can.
As long as ever you can.
John Wesley's Rule
"Let it be observed, that slovenliness, is no part of religion; that neither this nor any test of Scripture, condemns neatness of apparel. Certainly this is a duty, not a sin. 'Cleanliness is, indeed, next to godliness.'"
Sermon: On Dress
"Sir, you wish to serve God and go to heaven. Remember you cannot serve Him alone. You must therefore find companions or make them. The Bible knows nothing of solitary religion."
"Give me one hundred preachers who fear nothing but sin, and desire nothing but God, and I care not a straw whether they be clergymen or laymen, such alone will shake the gates of Hell and set up the kingdom of heaven upon earth."
"As to things which do not strike at the root of Christianity, we think and let think."
The Character of a Methodist
"I look upon the world as my parish."
Journal, June 11, 1729
"Though I am always in haste, I am never in a hurry."
"Though I am always in haste, I am never in a hurry."
Letters, December 10, 1777
"I love good men of every church. My ground is the Bible. Yes, I am a Bible bigot. I follow it in all things, both great and small.
Journal, June 5, 1766
'The Methodists must take heed to their doctrine, their experience, their practice, and their discipline. If they attend to their doctrines only, they will make the people antinomians; if to the experimental part of religion only, they will make them enthusiasts; if to the practical part only, they will make them Pharisees; and if they do not attend to their discipline, they will be like persons who bestow much pains in cultivating their garden, and put no fence round it, to save it from the wild boar of the forest."
"You will have no reward in heaven for what you lay up: you will for what you lay out. Every pound you put into the earthly bank is sunk: it brings no interest above. But every pound you give to the poor is put into the bank of heaven. And it will bring glorious interest; yea, and such as will be accumulating to all eternity."
From a conversation with Mr. Robert Miller, 1783
Sermon: The More Excellent Way
"The longer I live, the larger allowances I make for human infirmities. I exact more from myself and less from others."
"Go on, in the name of God and in the power of His might, till even American slavery, the vilest that ever saw the sun, shall vanish away before it."
From a letter to Samuel Furly, January 25, 1757
"Go on, in the name of God and in the power of His might, till even American slavery, the vilest that ever saw the sun, shall vanish away before it."
Wesley's last letter to William Wilberforce, Febrary 24, 1791
"The best of all is, God is with us."

Found this via BGB. A nice collection of quotes. I compiled a list of missionary quotes not too long ago and found it equally inspiring just to read over it and see the wisdom that others had accumulated in their respective walks with the Lord.
BTW, Smithville doesn't ring a bell. Which part of the state would that be? My aunt and uncle used to live in eastern Ohio, in former strip mining country.
Smithville is five miles NE of Wooster, about an hour south of Cleveland.
Thank you, Allan. I was once contacted by a church near Warren about a pastoral position, but nothing ever came of it. I'm guessing that's probably farther from you than Cleveland is.
Yes, it is a little farther. I do not get there much.
